Coral Reefs WP7

Did you know that coral reefs are important for many different reasons? They contain very diverse ecosystems on the planet. Coral reefs protect our coasts from waves, storms, and floods. They are also home to almost 25% of all known marine species. I think that is very interesting because coral reefs are also animals. Another interesting fact is that if the coral reefs are not in bad condition or dying they can live for thousands of years? Sadly humans are killing them many times faster than they can grow. I hope you enjoyed some of these facts about coral reefs.

My School Routine SBC6

My school day at home is a lot different than a normal school day at school. My usual school routine is I get up at 6:30, then leave to go to school at 7:30. When I get to school I go to my team teacher’s classroom and sit in there until the bell rings. If I am not in there then I am walking around the campus. On Wednesdays, it is a short day and we do not have Team so that is when I am walking around campus. Right after the first bell rings it is time for Team class. After that, my schedule goes P.E, Technology, (recess), Science, Math, (lunch), Math again, History, and then lastly Language Arts.

Plastic Pollution SBC5

I am going to be talking about Earth Day, and how plastic pollution is apart of it. Earth day is April 22, it began in 1970 and has been an annual day since then. This year it will be the 50-year anniversary. Earth Day is here to build public awareness about the state of our planet and how to help it. In 1990 Earth Day went global and gave us a huge boost to recycling efforts worldwide. I chose to write about plastic pollution because it is one of the biggest environmental problems. I am interested in this issue because I want to know how much plastic is in the ocean. Did you know that every day 8 million pieces of plastic go into the ocean? In 1997 yachtsman Charles Moore sailed from Hawaii to California. He had to sail through an area that had floating bottles and fishing gear twice the size of Texas. If you want to try and help our world with the ongoing environmental problem of plastic pollution you can: use reusable bags, avoid plastic packaging, and drive less (cars do produce microplastics). There is always more you can do but, these are just some examples.

Spring Break

Hello there, I will be going on spring break until March 30. But, I will be participating in the Student Blogging Challenge when I return.

About Me SBC1

Hello, my name is Cheyenne. I go to a middle school in California and I live in a small town, close to some big towns and cities. I am an only child. I do not play any sports, nor do I really have any hobbies. Outside of school I am interested in art, dance, music, and city life. During school I am interested in the nature around me, and history class.

Nature Weekly Post 1

Nature, do you like nature because I do. When I think of nature I think of a beautiful piece of artwork. To me, I see what could be an amazing photograph or a beautiful painting. I look at the clouds, mountains, grass, hills, and the rest of the nature around me, and think of how amazing this world can be. I admire nature and take it all in because, when I am older I am going to move to the city where I won’t see all kinds of beautiful trees, clouds, and birds. Sometimes I admire the birds and watch how they walk and move around. They are quite funny when they walk. Today while going to school I was looking at the clouds and seen what looked like a ship, and a human hanging on the ship.
